IHG Hotels & Resorts has launched a new loyalty program called IHG One Rewards mid-2022. One attractive aspect of this program is Milestone Rewardsyou can start earning after just 20 nights at IHG properties in a calendar year.
You can choose food and drink rewards in any Milestone Reward tier if you wish. Initially, IHG only implemented food and beverage redemption at select brands in the US and Canada. But now you can redeem your food and drink rewards at IHG . Hotels and Resorts all around the world.

What are the IHG Food and Beverage Rewards?
IHG One Rewards‘ food and beverage rewards are credits that you can apply to food and beverage purchases that are charged to your room at most IHG hotels and resorts. Fees eligible for food and beverage rewards vary by property. However, restaurant purchases, in-room dining, minibar food and drinks, associated tip fees, and certain taxes are generally eligible.
Exceptions include vending machine and gift shop purchases, third-party food delivery outside, restaurants that don’t allow fees on guests’ room bills, and taxes associated with the fee. use the minibar.
Purchases at Holiday Inn Express, Avid, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites at the market, pantry and pantry are also not currently counted. However, IHG plans to soon allow guests at these brands to redeem food and beverage rewards for the purchase of certain items.

How to earn food and drink rewards
You can earn food and beverage rewards through the IHG One Rewards Milestone Rewards program. You earn Milestone Rewards every 10 nights of elite eligibility each calendar year, starting on the 20th and continuing through 100 nights.

The Milestone Rewards Various options as follows:
- 20 nights: 5,000 bonus points, two $20 food and drink rewards, or one claimable set upgrade.
- 30 nights: 5,000 bonus points or two $20 food and drink rewards.
- 40 nights (choose two): 10,000 bonus points, five $20 food and drink rewards, one claimable set upgrade (limit one) or one annual lounge membership (limit one).
- 50 nights: 10,000 bonus points or five $20 food and drink rewards.
- 60 nights: 10,000 bonus points or five $20 food and drink rewards.
- 70 nights (choose two): 10,000 bonus points, five $20 food and drink rewards, two claimable set upgrades (limit one), or one annual lounge membership (limit one).
- 80 nights: 10,000 bonus points or five $20 food and drink rewards.
- 90 nights110,000 bonus points or five $20 food and drink rewards.
- 100 nights: 10,000 bonus points or five $20 food and drink rewards.
As you can see, you can choose food and drink rewards at each milestone. Food and beverage rewards typically expire 12 months after being selected, although IHG has extended all select food and beverage rewards in 2022 through 2023.
IHG issues food and beverage rewards in six currencies based on your country of residence. US residents receive $20, but IHG also issues food and drink rewards in euros, pounds, Chinese yuan, Japanese yen, and Saudi riyals. If your country does not use one of these currencies, IHG will issue your food and drink rewards in US dollars.
TPG . value IHG points at 0.5 cents per point. If you agree to this pricing, you’ll get more value from the food and drink rewards than the points at each milestone. However, you may want to opt for a confirmable suite upgrade or an annual lounge membership at selected milestones if you believe these will provide more value.

How to use food and drink rewards
Now that you know how to earn food and drink rewards, let’s see how to use them. You can redeem your food and beverage rewards when you sign up at most IHG brands. The main exclusions are Holiday Inn Club Vacations, Mr & Mrs Smith hotels (no longer possible to book through IHG, because of Hyatt acquires Mr & Mrs Smith) and the Intercontinental Union Resort.
If you redeem your food and beverage rewards at a property that uses a different currency than your bonus was issued, your bonus amount will be converted to the hotel’s local currency. And if you redeem a food and beverage reward for less than its face value — like redeeming a $20 reward when you only have $15 of eligible meals on your room bill — you’ll forfeit your share of the price. remaining value.
To redeem your food and beverage rewards during your stay, open the IHG One Rewards app or log into your account on the IHG website. If you go to IHG’s website to redeem, click “View Rewards” under “Enjoy Your Rewards” on your account homepage.
In the “Rewards to enhance your stay” section, you’ll see food and drink rewards. Click “Redeem” on one of the food and beverage rewards to begin the redemption process.
I recently redeemed one of my food and drink rewards at Holiday Inn Kandooma Maldives Resort. The following screenshots are from my redemption. Select your eligible stay — Room 001 at Kandooma Maldives in my case — and click “Continue Redemption”.
The next page shows my food and beverage rewards credit, applicable fees, and the amount remaining after the credit. I clicked, “Yes, apply this credit to my bill.”

Next, I see a page reminding me that I can only use each food and drink reward once. This page also links to food and beverage rewards terms and conditions. I clicked “Yes, redeem this” to use my food and drink rewards.
On the next page, I see confirmation that IHG has applied the food and beverage bonus to my bill.
Note that you will need to redeem your food and beverage rewards prior to check-out if you wish to use any of the rewards for your stay.
