ICU Liberty Singers: First online choir meeting was ‘happiest day’
An online choir of intensive care unit staff has met in real life for the first time – almost a year after trying to hit number one over Christmas.
The 100-person group joined The Police’s Every Breath You Take in December 2020 to raise money to support the mental health of ICU staff who have spent most of the year battling the coronavirus.
The choir director, Kari Olsen-Porthouse, from Nottinghamshire, reflects: “We weren’t in the top 40 and we really didn’t care. We had created something lovely in a perfect situation. absolutely terrible.”
See what happened when ICU Liberty Singers – made up of nurses, doctors and medical professionals – met for the first time last month.
