Dubbed the Ribcage style, this pair of jeans has the highest gain of any Levi’s to date – and at 12 1/8 inches, the ruched ribcage makes those jeans back other high in the market to shame. I realize the name makes them a bit offensive, but once I put on my briefcase and button it up past my navel, it’s clear that these are the prettiest (and affordable!) jeans I’ve ever worn.
According to Global Product Manager Karyn Hillman, it turns out they’re designed to fit that way. “The authentic look and feel is inspired by the ’90s Levi’s 501 with a beautifully modern amplified rise — perfectly styled high or low,” she says. Now that the dark-wash briefcase is a permanent part of my wardrobe (scroll down to see them), I can’t stop telling my friends to add them to their own wardrobes.
