Las Vegas is full of luxurious, even sumptuous hotel rooms and suites. However, most of these accommodations are expensive, sometimes in the tens of thousands of dollars.
What do you do when you want to live like a playboy but don’t have a bunch of cash on hand? When I saw the price of Linq Hotel’s most expensive room, I thought I might have found a great solution.
On the city’s famous Strip, the Linq Hotel is an affordable option with suites available at far less than what you’ll find at nearby hotels.
I recently spent a couple of nights at the hotel to see if staying in The Linq’s most expensive room was equivalent to hanging up your hat at a much more expensive room at another Vegas resort. are not. While I didn’t get the luxury experience I can get at some other hotels, what I did get was a great value for the space.
The price is right, but what about the experience?
Linq has a great location right on Las Vegas Boulevard near Flamingo Road, so it’s the hub for most of the action on the Strip. The nearest neighbor is flamingo hotel on one side and Harrah’s Las Vegas on the other hand, with greatness Caesar’s Palace and illusion right across the street. However, unlike these adjacent properties, the rates at The Linq are much more reasonable.
Average room rates at The Linq start at $33 a night, while a similar room at Caesars Palace costs as little as $85 a night. Similarly, a room at the Flamingo Hotel will cost from $33 a night, while Mirage offers rooms for $59 and up a night. All of these prices, including The Linq, vary widely depending on the day and time of year, but even so, prices at The Linq are significantly lower than in most neighborhoods.
Set prices vary even more. My nearly 700-square-foot suite at The Linq started at just $77 a night, less than the starting price of a standard room at Caesars.
I must admit that the significant cost difference makes me a little wary. I can’t help but wonder if important things like customer service and amenities, such as room service, are omitted to reduce overall costs. If so, what would the experience really be like? While some research online seems to show mostly good reviews on the property and no glaring deficiencies in amenities, I still wonder if this deal sounds too good to be a real deal. really when I come to stay no.
Impressive but no less luxurious
My first thought upon entering the King Suite at The Linq was how big it is. The layout of the room emphasizes size and feels more like a one-bedroom apartment than a hotel suite.

When you first enter the suites, you walk straight from the short entrance into an open plan room with dedicated living, dining and kitchenette areas. The first bathroom, two rooms in total, is next to the kitchenette behind your right door, while the left door opens to the equally large bedroom, with the second bathroom right in front of you.
The apartment’s overall atmosphere is modern, with sleek lines and colorful art, including a cool mural-style piece that takes up most of the wall behind the bed.
There is a spacious living area with a couch, coffee table, flat-screen TV, and a high table and chair set that serves as the dining area and separates the living area from the kitchenette area. In that kitchenette there’s a sink, a mini-fridge, and a Keurig coffee maker with everything you need to make your morning coffee. There’s even a half bathroom in the living area in case you have guests but don’t want them in your sleeping space.

However, while the initial layout seems ideal for receiving guests, other details make it clear that it will be difficult to entertain here for a long period of time. There is no minibar to store drinks and the couch doesn’t seem to be pulled out. The second room is large enough to accommodate extra guests in case of an emergency, but it doesn’t appear to be a comfortable place for a group to sleep many nights.
Like the main room, the sleeping area is also generous in size. There’s plenty of space to move around, even with the king-size bed placed in the center of the room. In addition to the fully equipped bathroom, there is a wardrobe, a safe, a work desk and an extra flat-screen TV. There are many shops near the bed and on the table.
While I appreciate the spacious space, there is one detail that immediately stands out: There is very little natural light due to the lack of windows. There are only two windows in the entire suite (one in the bedroom and one in the living room). Both are long but not floor-to-ceiling and appear a bit narrow.
Given the stunning views from my suite—the windows overlooking the pool area and the High Roller observation wheel, the 550-foot-tall Ferris wheel that lights up in a colorful kaleidoscope at night—I’m a little disappointed that I couldn’t help but enjoy more due to the thin design of the windows. Not to mention, the lack of soundproofing is less than ideal, as the last thing I want to hear in the morning is a hotel pool party that sounds like it’s happening in my living quarters. Still, it’s a surprisingly comfortable place to catch some z on a budget.
The spacious bathroom with shower is also well equipped. It’s well-lit and has extra lights around the vanity mirror, as well as a wall-mounted magnifying mirror that makes applying makeup a breeze. However, all the toiletries in the bathroom – including shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and lotion – are commonplace and are housed in giant wall-mounted shelves that look like Maybe they haven’t been cleaned for a long time. The water in the suites’ sinks also spurts out and is cloudy and white when turned on, which isn’t exactly the high-end experience I was hoping for here.
Exit the software suite
One of the coolest things about my stay at The Linq was Ivy, a virtual concierge service available at several Caesars Entertainment properties, including The Linq.
A few days after I booked, I received a text from Ivy explaining virtual services and providing additional services such as room upgrades and special packages that I could wait in the room upon check-in. You can also make reservations for restaurants and treatment spas or even buy tickets to shows at other hotels around Vegas through Ivy.
Looking back, I wish I had taken those offers from Ivy before going to Vegas because I found it a bit difficult to book some of these add-ons while I was at the hotel. There didn’t seem to be much room for spa treatments or poolside cabanas during my stay. However, I used Ivy for room service, which was very convenient despite the limited hours and limited options. During my visit, guests could only order from Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen & Bar or the Nook Express, both of which close at 9pm on weekdays and 10pm on weekends. This closing time surprised me, as I was expecting late night room service options given Vegas’s reputation as a party destination.
However, there are a few other on-site restaurants that you can visit in person if you find yourself unsatisfied with the room service options. For starters, there’s Hash House A Go Go, a breakfast and brunch spot that can be accessed from the lobby via a set of stairs. Alternatively, you can dine at Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery or Off the Strip, two boardwalk bistro eateries that offer very different vibes.
When you’re ready for an alcoholic drink, head to one of the hotel’s many bars, including O’Shea’s Pub Las Vegas, 3535 Las Vegas Cocktail Bar in the casino’s center, and a daiquiri bar called Purple. Zebra Las Vegas. While some bars (such as Purple Zebra) seem to have fairly limited hours of operation, you should always have at least one watering hole available, as Catalyst Bar welcomes patrons 24 hours a day.
If you want even more options, venture to the outdoor boardwalk behind the hotel. There, you’ll discover more bars, shops, and eateries that open hours later, so you can grab a late-night In-N-Out Burger when hunger hits after an evening. a walk in town or a late flight to Vegas. It wasn’t exactly a fancy dinner, but it was certainly a treat, especially when someone was from the East Coast.

The overall feel of The Linq is quite comfortable. It wasn’t too busy during my trip, but it wasn’t deserted either. There always seems to be a large number of people of different ages and backgrounds in the lobby, although most visitors seem to be just passing by. Neither the casino nor the in-house restaurant was overcrowded when I visited, which gave me the impression that most guests staying at The Linq were also exploring further afield.

There are no specific premium amenities available with the suites I booked that I am aware of, so I have access to the same amenities as guests who book any other room, such as a swimming pool. swimming pool, fitness center and free Wi-Fi. As such, the apartment experience matches the hotel experience, which is good but rather average.
It’s worth it? which depends
Overall, my experience at The Linq was decent but not remarkable. Whether or not you should book a room at The Linq really depends on the experience you’re looking for.
If what you want is a truly luxurious Vegas suite experience, then The Linq might not be the place for you. However, if you don’t mind sacrificing a few luxury amenities, then chances are you’ll appreciate having a large room in a great location at an amazingly low price.
Just remember to pre-purchase any add-ons you may need, as you’ll have a harder time sourcing late-night snacks and booking last-minute spa appointments or party tent rentals. swimming pool after registration.
