Hyundai Vision N 74 appears in production vehicle presentation

Not only will rumor belong to Hyundai The N Vision 74 concept isn’t dead, Hyundai is now officially the reason they’re still around. During Hyundai Group’s recent CEO Investor Day, the company focused on plans to double the company’s hybrid product line.a presentation that includes the slide above, titled “Full EV Lineup: Offering Customers a Wide Range of Choices from Entry-Level to Luxury/High-Performance Vehicles.” Under the subheading “Launching 21 Models by 2030,” examples are presented that include four models from two of the group’s three brands. Two of the models have already been launched: the Hyundai Inster electric vehicle sold in markets such as Europe and Australiaand the Ioniq N. Two more are coming soon, Ioniq 9 SUV And Genesis GV60 Magma. But one model in the performance EV category isn’t shown — but it is named: Hyundai N (74 vision).

Hyundai unveiled the concept at its performance-focused N-Day in July 2022, alongside an Ioniq 6 N rolling lab called the RN22e. The N74 shares the same basic shape as the 1974 Giorgetto Giugiaro-designed Hyundai Pony Coupe concept, its look modernized and sharpened for the 21st century. The bulging fenders could have been lifted from an old IMSA race car, and the pixelated lights and Turbofan wheels give it the look that 1980s sci-fi fan wanted, but didn’t have the technology at the time. Propulsion comes from two electric motors on the rear axle, totaling over 670 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. Power comes from a 62.4 kWh battery. battery package and 4.2 kg hydrogen The fuel tank is connected to an 85 kW fuel cell. Hyundai estimates the range at more than 373 miles.

After the first rumors about production began to appear in May 2023, we gave our opinion: “Go for it, Hyundai. Build the N Vision 74 concept.“Hyundai has denied the reports and said the N will not be a production car. The rumors continue until the end of the yeartake a break, then continued in May this year. At that point, the street-legal version is expected to debut in 2026, featuring the concept’s dual-electric powertrain, producing more than 775 horsepower, limited to around 100 or 200 units, some of which will be raced in a series of races in the United States and Europe, and priced at around $374,000 apiece at current exchange rates.

Everything we know about how close the company’s actual plans for the car are to the rumors is in the slide above. We’d think it would be a shame if Hyundai actually built a few hundred of them to display in collector garages or Bonhams. Auction catalog. But if Hyundai sells an expensive showroom tech that translates into an all-battery version at a bargain price, we won’t complain. Or, since the concept is supposedly built on a Kia Stinger platform, we know a performance hybrid contradicts the title of the slide, but we’re not complaining about that either.
