If Hyundai and Kia’s audible speed limit assist feature has been an annoyance for you in the past, then Hyundai Tucson 2025 Introducing a shortcut solution that allows you to quickly turn off this function every time you start your vehicle.
The facelifted Tucson is the first model in Hyundai Motor Group’s product portfolio to offer a shortcut key to turn off the speed limit warning function, following global feedback on the feature.
Pressing and holding the steering wheel-mounted mute button will quickly silence the audible warning while still keeping the visual speed limit information on the instrument cluster. However, you must perform this sequence every time you start the car.
It is understood that audible speed limit warnings are mandatory on new vehicles in regions such as Europe and are rapidly becoming standard on many makes and models globally.
Hyundai Motor Group’s solution has been widely criticized for its constant beeping and banging since the new Kia Seltos launched in 2022 and since then, the feature has been gradually rolled out to more Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.
Hyundai Australia representatives couldn’t confirm if and when we can expect a similar shortcut in other models equipped with Audible Speed Limit Assist, although we can expect future models to offer a similar shortcut.
Furthermore, the Tucson’s ccNC infotainment architecture is shared with Kona, Santa Fe And Sonataand it would make sense if a software update brought similar functionality. Stay tuned for more announcements on this.
The 2025 Hyundai Tucson is now arriving at dealerships, with a new hybrid powertrain leading the way. Prices start at $39,100 plus on-road costs for the base gas model and $45,100 for the base Tucson Hybrid.
