Hyundai Creta facelift on sale in Malaysia – SmartSense, Apple CarPlay wireless, Android Auto

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has opened the order book for the Hyundai Creta, following several local appearances on Malaysian roadmost recent last week. Orders are currently being made at all authorized Hyundai dealers nationwide, as well as online.

The Click-To-Buy page on Hyundai Malaysia’s website reveals that the Creta will launch in Malaysia as a single 1.5 Plus variant, offered in five exterior color choices – Galaxy Blue Pearl, Midnight Black Pearl, Titan Gray Metallic, Creamy White Pearl and Dragon Red Pearl – and black interior.

Included on the website is the Creta specs list, confirming the device will be in the B-segment crossover. Powering the Creta for the Malaysian market is a 1.5-liter MPI naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 115 hp at 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. minutes, with power sent to the front wheels via a Smartstream IVT continuously variable transmission.

The trunk is a set of 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 215/60 tires and this includes a full-size spare tire of the same size on a steel wheel. In terms of exterior equipment, the Creta for the Malaysian market is equipped with LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, along with LED taillights.

The Creta is cloth-wrapped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift lever. Infotainment is provided by an 8-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay while the driver gets a 10.25-inch instrument display, according to the official release.

In terms of driver assistance, the Creta is equipped with a set of Hyundai SmartSense assistance systems including frontal collision avoidance and blind spot assist, lane keep assist, lane follower assist, front departure warning, lane departure assist, and lane departure assist. Rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, safe exit warning and high beam assist. Hyundai Creta 2022 scored ASEAN NCAP 5-star rating.

While HSDM has posted the aforementioned specifications for our upcoming Creta, pricing has yet to be revealed. For some signs, Creta sells for between 291.3 and 408.3 million rupiah (about RM86k and RM120k) in Indonesiawhile in Thailand it is listed from 949 thousand to 999 thousand baht (about RM122 thousand to RM129 thousand).
