Hummer EV series, Hyundai’s Ioniq design, Polestar 5 flagship: Car News Today

The Hummer EV Edition 1 is highly rated for its range, even though it’s not EPA-official. A flagship Polestar 5 due out in 2024 will follow closely behind the Precept concept. And what does the Hyundai Seven concept say about future Ioniq models? This and more, here at Green Car Report.

GM listed a Official range for the first GMC Hummer EV at 329 miles, and while it’s subject to EPA tests, it’s not actually EPA rated. That’s because this first version, Version 1, was a heavy truck and was too heavy for the rating required on the window sticker. But future Hummer EVs will be quiet, so in the meantime, GM will be upfront about ratings.

The Polestar Precept concept is evolving into a production model, the Polestar 5. A flagship four-door electric fastback about the same size as the Tesla Model S, the Polestar 5 will debut in 2024 — along with a much-anticipated Polestar 3 SUV before that, in 2022.

Inside the Hyundai Seven concept at the LA auto show, Hyundai design director Simon Loasby told us how will all its Ioniq vehicles look quite different, to address multiple needs, but they’ll have a pixel-design theme to tie them together — as well as reconfigurable interiors, sustainable materials, and an emphasis on hygiene.

And at the Automotive Authority: Volkswagen is planning electric sedan based on its 2018 ID. and ID.Space Vizzion 2019 concepts. It’s called ID.6 and will be one of the biggest models on the MEB platform underpinning ID.4.
