HR-V and more coming in 2022

Automakers and PR reps are notoriously tight-lipped about upcoming vehicles. The infamous saying that all of us in the car news business are familiar with is, “We cannot comment on future products.” But this week, Honda’s motobike opened up a little bit and made big revelations for next year, and it’s going to be a busy year. It all starts in 2023 Honda HR-WORLD, shown in the renders above.

The company hasn’t shared many details as it is focused on extensive product plans, but it does note that it will be “unique to North America.” It’s not clear if it’s just styling, this is very obvious compared to HR-V of Europe and Vezel of Japan shown below, or if it will have a different platform and powertrain. We suspect the latter, because looking at the renders, not only does it have a simpler, more aggressive look, but the glass in the greenhouse is different, as are the door handles.

The HR VUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU This is just the beginning of a major product rollout. Starting to have more SUVs with the new version CR-VAT, and then new Pilot. A new one Fit is about to happen, and of course something is about to happen Civic CHEAP. By Acura a slightly more modest implementation, with major launches being the new Integra and the Type-S version of the MDX.

Plug-in hybrids are not in the plan

There’s one thing Honda doesn’t include in its plans, and that’s plug-ins crossbred. When asked why, Honda USA Vice President of National Operations Dave Gardner noted that public and government sentiment has shifted from just decreasing emissions to remove them completely. Therefore, the time and effort to develop plug-in hybrids makes no sense when it can be applied to Electric Car.

Regular, non-plug-in hybrid models are still planned, and Honda is expecting hybrid sales to increase over the next few years. The company is expecting half of Accord sales to eventually be hybrids. For Acura, hybrids aren’t planned to be a major part of sales, with the brand moving straight into electric vehicles.

Speaking of EVs, Honda’s first electric vehicle in North America is still planned Prologue. That is the electric model will be based on Synthetic engine product. It’s slated for the 2024 model year and Honda predicts annual sales around 70,000 yen let it begin. Acura will receive a copy of the Prologue, can be named ADX.
