If you are a Elite member of United Airlines like me, you probably haven’t received any unified luggage tags as of 2019. Fortunately, that’s changing, although this time you’ll have to ask for one to get it in the mail.
Premier Silver, Gold, Platinum and 1K members who meet the 2022 status requirements can claim a new free branded baggage tag made from recycled materials through the airline’s website.

How to order a United Airlines bag card
It’s easy to order a United Airlines baggage tag. First, log in to your MileagePlus account and navigate to the My United home screen. Select “View Premium status trackers.”
A new tab will open, taking you to United’s new Premier League status tracker. If this is your first time here, you will see a welcome letter from CEO Scott Kirby and a welcome video. You can also request a baggage tag, which United will mail to the address on your MileagePlus account within 8 to 10 weeks.

Before the pandemic, United sent welcome letters, luggage tags, drink coupons and physical membership cards to its Premier members in membership kits. In fact, as a Premier 1K member, United used to send me cocktail coasters, and the following year I received a Premier 1K-branded wireless portable charger.
The physical membership kit hasn’t been sent — and likely won’t — to a record number of Premier members this year.

In United’s upcoming Premier status branding, Premier Silver and Premier 1K luggage tags are the same off-white color, making it difficult to tell the two apart. The airline has rebranded its elite luggage tags, creating them from recycled materials.

US and Delta baggage tags
Delta Airlines sent bag cards to its Medallion elites who met the status requirements in 2022. Some TPG employees hold Delta Medal Status received the baggage tag last week.
American Airlines sending membership kits — containing personalized baggage tags — to the top elite of Executive Platinum. Some Executive Platinum members have already received their membership kits.
