Whether you’re a beginner or an expert in unclogging drains, we all need to know how to thread a needle the easy way!
There are a few tips for getting the job done, and I’ve outlined (step by step) four of the easiest ways to thread a needle so you can start your sewing project right after you start. And they both work on large and small needles.
Some of these tips suggest useful tools to make the job easier, but there are a few ways you can do it without thread or aid if you don’t have someone by your side.

Option 1.) Wet the end of the thread: This is how I’ve threaded needles since I was a kid and it’s great that you don’t need any extra tools to do it.
Since frayed ends make threading a nightmare, trim the ends of the thread so you have a new end that is still woven fairly tightly.
Then, wet the tips of your fingers with water (or a little bit of saliva) and moisten the end of the thread, this helps the thread stick together and stiffen a bit. You can also put the end in your mouth for a second and that will work too.
When the thread is still damp, push the wet end of the thread through the needle and pull through until you have the length you want and knot the end.
Option 2) Using the pointer: While I understand that having another tool around to do a particular job might not be ideal, the needles are just so small and take up so little space that they’re really worth it.
You can also use them to refer to sewing machines so they do two things besides hand sewing (and they do really cute ones like these daisies).
Simply thread the thin diamond wire through the eye of the needle until it sticks to the other side. Thread your thread through the larger diamond shape and then pull the string back through the eye of the needle so your thread goes with it to the other side.
Pull it through until you have the length you want and knot at the end.
Right to buy 3.) Using the folding and clamping method:
Fold your thread over the tip of the needle and pinch the bottom with your thumb and index finger. Pull out the needle so you have a small loop of wire sandwiched between your fingers.
Place the eye of the needle over the needle loop with your other hand and press down on the loop so that the loop passes through the eye of the needle. When it’s pushed down far enough, you can grab the loop and pull it through.
Pull it through until you have the length you want and knot at the end.
Right to buy 4.) Using the pointer:
If you find yourself sewing here and there, you might want to spend a few dollars on a pack syllable to make the job easy.
These needles have a V-shaped hole in the top of the needle, so all you have to do is hold the thread over the V shape and pull down to pull it into the hole and your needle is threaded!
