How to crop in Lightroom to create better photos
There’s something to be said about in-camera composition, of course, but that doesn’t mean you should never use the tools you have available to you in post-production, especially the ability to Crop the image to fit. One particularly important piece of advice that can be easily overlooked when you’re new to photography is not to crop at the joints (wrists, elbows, knees, ankles). It creates an unnatural and distracting look, pulling the viewer’s eye away from the image and making the body look different. Instead, cut muscles along the torso, trunk, shins, or biceps; this will look much more natural and will create a much more effective composition and overall photo.
