How much would you pay for this legendary Subaru WRX STi 22B?

In the world of Subaru WRX STI, no star shines as brightly as the 22B.

Only 425 were produced, the majority of which were delivered in Japan, and the handcrafted two-door coupe bodywork is unique in the Subaru world.

With a 2.2-liter turbocharged boxer engine that is said to produce 206 kW and actually produces more, the 22B will hit 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds from a standstill.

Even in 2023, that’s fast; in 1998 when it launched, it left most supercars in the shade.

Now, one is for sale in Australia. The Japanese import is listed on auction site Collecting Cars and is expected to fetch up to $500,000 at auction.

According to the auction site, it’s been more than a year since one went on sale locally. The last one on the list sold for $360,000.

The example coming to trial is the 258, and it has done 71,000km on the odometer. As you can see from the pictures, the Japanese launch race car is in very good condition.

22B is more important now that Subaru has decided not to bother New WRX STI.
