Early reports indicated that Henry would miss the rest of the season for the Titans after having surgery to repair his broken foot. However, coach Mike Vrabel seems to believe that Henry will have a chance to return this year.
Vrabel told reporters: “We will not give a timeline as to when he may return. “I know he will do all he can to get back to work – to be able to help this team. Whenever that is the case, that’s when it will come.
“I know he’ll be around our team as soon as possible. I know it’s important for him. I know it’s going to be important for our team. We’re going to have to move on without that. without him here briefly and not looking back.”
Later, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Henry’s recovery time will likely be 6-10 weeks. That means he’ll have a chance to return for a potential playoff hosted by the Titans, as he’ll be able to return in Week 14 if he hits the minimum end of that timeline. and before the end of Week 18 maximum.
Looks like Henry is on the verge of a comeback at some point around Week 18, like Rapoport reported on December 12.
Sources say that the rehabilitation process for the all-around champion is going so well that Henry could return to the knockout stages if Tennessee makes it – or potentially Week 18 if the Titans face win-win situation. The team is optimistic that he will play again after surgery to repair his fifth ankle on November 2, and reports of his progress reinforce that good feeling.
As a result, Henry’s condition will need to be closely monitored during the waning weeks of the season. He’s not guaranteed to return, but if the Titans make it through to the knockout stages, he could provide a huge boost to the team’s offensive behavior.
