How good is the new Sony A7R V?
Glyn Dewis review Sony A7RV with his casual yet incredibly informative style of humor. He compared it to his current A7R IV and reviewed new software and hardware updates on this updated camera model. Now, if you can see his previous video that was recently taken down, you will see that the problems he had when using the new Sony A7RV while focusing on the subject in the video were not. ideal. The refresh of that video came as Sony contacted and resolved some of the issues that plagued the version he lent. Changed settings are clearly documented and this is the ideal resource to help you decide if this camera is a worthy upgrade to its predecessor and is worth spending the nearly £ 4000 or not.
Glyn’s self-deprecating humor and all-around good vibe are easily expressed in an entertaining yet incredibly rewarding watch. Some people think the menu is too complicated broken down with visual instructions and the reasoning behind the options selected.
As a Canon user, I was happy when he mentioned in an earlier video that he was testing the R5. I knew it would be a great camera when I got my hands on the R6. However, when Sony sent him this newer model for testing, whether or not he changed from the A7RIV can be answered in this video.
Glyn discusses the new flip and tilt screens as well as the long-awaited addition of a touch screen (why did it take so long?), the new menu, and the basics of porting from still image mode to video mode, with the addition of the solution through smart menu selection, including frame-by-frame focus and the new AI Processor for focusing.
Using a moving subject to test focus tracking yields surprising results, however, I’ll let you watch the video to see what you think.
His tone and content are great. There’s a lot of information to help you decide, and one can only wonder if cameras are going the way mobile phones are doing with smaller, incremental upgrades rather than leaps and bounds. technology or not.
