The Honda WR-V has been given a five-star safety rating by the New Vehicle Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP). This comes a few weeks after the all-new compact SUV already sold in Indonesiawhere it competes with the Toyota Raize and Daihatsu Rocky – these are sister cars to the Perodua Ativa we have here.

At the highest spec, the WR-V comes with six airbags, a suite of Honda Sensing driver assistance systems such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist, as well as a host of conventional passive safety systems (ESC and ABS). .
The WR-V scored 27.41 out of 32 possible in terms of adult passenger protection, with a full 8 in the lateral impact test. Meanwhile, the child protection feature is given a score of 42.79 out of 51 possible points and in the safety assistance category, this model scores 16.37 out of 21 possible points.
For the motorcyclists category, which includes blind spot technology testing as part of the 2017-2020 protocol, Honda’s LaneWatch scored 2.91 out of 8 possible points in the aforementioned test. Including other tests, the final score in this category is 8.36 out of 16 possible points, and when adjusted for weights, an overall score of 77.07 points qualifies for a five-star rating.
In Indonesia, the WR-V is equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with a capacity of 121 hp at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm, driving the front wheels through a gearbox.
