Honda unveils trio of electric cars in Shanghai


Honda’s motobike exhibited three models at the 2023 Shanghai auto show to preview the upcoming members of the e:N electric vehicle (EV) family in China.

The lineup consists of two prototype models teased beforee:NP2 and e:NS2, and concept model e:N SUV Prologue (序).

Honda has confirmed that production models based on this concept will go on sale before the end of 2024.

The Japanese automaker says all three models will be equipped with the Honda Connect 4.0 infotainment system and the smartest AI-powered advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) to date.

Honda plans to become an electric-only brand in China by 2035, five years earlier than the original goal.

Achieving this goal will involve the introduction of 10 new electric vehicles in China by 2027.

Honda says it “plans” to export some of the e:N Series electric vehicles from China, though it has yet to say which models will be sold globally.

Globally, the company says it will only sell pure electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles from 2040 onwardsand will be completely carbon neutral by 2050.
