HOLD, Race For Education Announces Scholarship Winners

The Kentucky Horse Education Project (KEEP) and Race for Education (RFE) are proud to announce the recipients of their 2022 scholarship.

The Board of Directors of the KEEP Foundation has approved more than $30,000 in scholarships for 13 students studying at nine universities across the Commonwealth. All recipients of the 2022 scholarship are students currently enrolled at a university or college in Kentucky in an equine-related major and/or agriculture or whose parents work in the equine industry.

In addition to these 13 Kentucky students, Race For Education has awarded the annual Robert J. Frankel Scholarship to two New York State students: Anitza Parilla and Francis Marrone. Now in its 12th year, the Robert J. Frankel Scholarship, in honor of the late Robert (Bobby) J. Frankel, is awarded to students whose families work in the Thoroughbred industry, pursuing any discipline. at a college or university in the State of California or New York. Both recipients of the Frankel Scholarship, whose parents worked at various New York racetracks, will attend New York universities.

“We had an outstanding pool of applicants this year,” said Alexandra Harper, Executive Director of the KEEP Foundation. I am very excited for these students to embark on their college careers and also for the future of the equine industry. These students are eager and willing to make a difference, and I am delighted that we can help alleviate some of the financial burden by awarding scholarships. ”
