HIMSSCast: New study says vendors are optimistic about the future of AI in healthcare
According to a new study by the Berkeley Research Group, 75% of healthcare professionals expect widespread implementation of AI in the next three years. That’s a pretty positive reaction to a technology that’s very new to the healthcare sector.
Furthermore, the study found that 87% of vendors surveyed are confident in their organization’s ability to comply with regulations surrounding AI. Another unusually large reaction to artificial intelligence.

Nearly 60% of vendors surveyed are providing some form of internal training and education on AI, and 55% of them are establishing specific AI guidance for appropriate use.

Although the healthcare industry has taken steps to self-regulate as a matter of necessity, there is still much work to be done.

Only 37% of vendor respondents said their organizations are reviewing or planning to review regulatory guidance to ensure appropriate AI implementation.
