Highlights beyond the design changes and larger new screens include the addition of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring, as well as a redesigned climate control panel that combines physical switches with a digital panel to display temperature and fan speed.

While local Navara models are sourced from Thailand, a Nissan Australia spokesperson said Car expert: “The update is specific to the Thai market. There are currently no plans for this car in Australia.”

According to reports, these changes will seemingly link the Navara ute with the related Nissan Terra 4WD, which is what the Navara is like. Ford Everest And Isuzu MU-X is to Forest Ranger And D-Maxrespectively.

As at 31 July 2024, there were 665 new Navara 4×2 and 5714 Navara 4×4 registrations in Australia, up 118.0 per cent and 48.5 per cent respectively over the January to July 2023 period.

However, the Navara is a small rival to the Ford Ranger, which sold 3,216 4×2s and 35,230 4×4s respectively during the same period – essentially outselling the Navara by six times.
