Ford Mustang Dark Horse – Performance-oriented Mustang 2024, two race-only models


If a person is old often 2024 Ford Mustang just not enough for you, you can take it to the next level by purchasing one of these Ford Mustang Dark Horse models.

The Mustang Dark Horse is powered by a 5.0-liter Coyota V8 exclusively and has added power, improved air, tires, and steering to create a more performance-focused Mustang.

The Coyote 5.0 liter V8 engine is enhanced with the engine from the Shelby GT500 Mustang with a capacity of 760 horsepower. It won’t make 760hp as it’s still normally aspirated (the Shelby is supercharged), but it’s expected to produce 500hp, more than the regular Mustang V8.

The standard transmission will be a six-speed TREMEC manual, but differentiates it from the regular Mustang manual with the addition of a transmission oil cooler. You can also get the Mustang Dark Horse with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Chassis tweaks include larger rear swing bars, heavy-duty front shock absorbers, and Ford Performance-designed strut tower and K-braces. The Dark Horse also gets an upgraded 19-inch six-cylinder Brembo front brake with a 13.9-inch rotor.

Exterior differences from the regular Mustang include darkened headlights, unique front bumper, fixed rear spoiler, rear diffuser and dark exhaust tips. The Dark Horse badge is placed on the fenders, truck door panels. The pony logo is also given a dark anodized treatment.

There’s also an exterior paint that’s exclusive to Dark Horse – the Blue Embed metallic paint you see in these photos.

There will be two variants of the Mustang Dark Horse that will not be street legal. A lighter version called the Mustang Dark Horse S designed for weekend racers and the Mustang Dark Horse R.

The Mustang Dark Horse S is stripped of all unnecessary parts and trim, and comes equipped with a full FIA-certified safety cage, safety nets, racing seats with seat belts and a steering wheel. racing has a quick disconnect function. It is also disconnected from the power and fire suppression system.

The driver’s seat is standard, the rear passenger seat is optional. There are no rear passengers. Suspension is upgraded to Multimatic DSSV dampers with adjustable height and camber.

Driver controls are located in the center console, which houses switches and buttons for the headlights, side indicators, windshield wipers, mirror adjustment and rain lights. Also included for the Dark Horse S is a bunker speed limiter and a data visualization and collection system.

The Dark Horse R upgrades the Dark Horse S with strategic seams, fuel cells for increased range, and Ford Performance Parts wheels.
