On the heel of United Airlines’ recent announcement for family seatingVery cheap shipping company Border Airline said it now also seats children with parents at no extra charge. This makes it the latest airline to introduce a travel policy that allows families to sit together.
The Denver-based airline said Tuesday that it allows children under 14 to automatically be seated with at least one parent or guardian at no additional cost.
Representative, Frontier charges for all seat assignments. However, under this new measure, the airline said it will assign seats based on the age of family members before the check-in window opens.
“We recognize the importance of having children sit next to the adults they are traveling with,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial affairs at Frontier Airlines.
Shurz said Frontier has been studying this policy and improving its system since October to better ensure that families can sit together on flights, adding that “the system is working. It’s working well and we’re getting positive feedback.”
In addition, Frontier said families with Den members discount can use the Kids Fly Free promotion for some flights if they have children under the age of 14.

Frontier follows in the footsteps of United Airlines in announcing policies to make it easier for families to sit together. United said Monday that it will allow families with children under 12 to sit together for free in its economy class cabins.
Breeze Airways has said that they always allow Families can sit together for free on airline flights.
Southwest Airlines – famous for its open seat policy – seems to have been quiet experiment with its family travel policy. It allows families with children under the age of 13 to participate in the family boarding process to ensure that families have a better chance of choosing seats next to each other.
However, Southwest’s official policy remains that families with children under the age of 6 stay between boarding groups A and B.
The recent focus on family seating comes after President Joe Biden Advise airlines for charging an additional fee to allow children to sit with their families, advertised that his administration would enact more consumer protections.
Current policy of the Ministry of Transport Satisfied encourages airlines to keep families together as far as possible at no extra charge for children under 13 years of age to sit with a parent or guardian.
“Baggage fees are bad enough – they can’t treat your child like a piece of luggage,” Biden said in his Feb. 7 State of the Union address.
