“He should have been able to keep going.” Rolly Romero beats Ismael Barroso in highly controversial fashion

It’s been over a year since Rolando “Rolly” Romero entered the boxing ring. Indeed, the man’s final bout ended with Romero being kicked by none other than Gervonta Davis in May 2022. Returning to the ring for the first time since that defeat, Romero is aiming for the title. WBA World Junior Weight Class on Saturday night 2022. LaVegas. His opponent is Venezuelan Ismael Barroso, an unannounced but very skilled veteran who seems to realize he has a lifetime opportunity ahead of him in the glitzy Americas.
Romero fired his jab and stayed out of range on the first pass while Barroso’s south foot spurred action after a stab of his own. Barroso slipped in the second minute while Romero continued to try to stay out of range. The third goal saw Barroso knock out Romero in the final minute of the half. Romero got up but it was clear that Barroso was able to reach his men and land effectively. With that said, Romero had a strong fourth round as his fist found target. However, Barroso played very well throughout the match.
The fifth inning was over, with moments where both men exchanged skins, though Barroso could have made it through. The sixth table shows it’s time for Romero to let go. He didn’t do bad – he was even played by many people – but he was chased by his men, as well as in the head. Romero was able to reverse that trend in the seventh round thanks to some sharp punches of his own. Barroso’s entourage told the story of season eight.
Romero pushed Barroso to the floor in the ninth minute, but it counted as a knockdown. Barroso passed the count, but Romero started to really pile it on him. However, Barroso is clearly not staying out of the action. However, for some inexplicable reason, referee Tony Weeks intervened and stopped the match. Romero walked out of the ring with the WBA title thanks to a very strange decision by the referee. “He could have gone on,” Romero said of Barroso after the match ended.
