Grab drivers strike today? The association is not satisfied with the latest fare amendment, asking for a lower income

Grab drivers could go on strike later today. The Grab Malaysia Drivers Association (GDMA) will meet today and will decide on the steps to take to protest the company’s latest fare adjustment, according to the statement. Utusan Malaysia.

“If we go to the Grab Driver Center to strike without prior discussion and when it is time to question us, we have no grounds to fight the management. Therefore, we require a period of time to be able to gather information,” said GDMA vice president Mohd Azril Ahmat.

Recently, Grab adjusted the fare system, reducing the distance fee from 70 sen to 25 sen per kilometer. This is balanced by increasing the time charge from 20 sen to 43 sen per minute. Grab says its driver-partners will benefit from the new rates as they will be paid more during rush hour even for shorter distances, due to traffic jams.

The Utusan The report says Grab drivers are not satisfied and have demanded a 65% reduction in earnings per kilometer. It added that drivers emphasized that congestion is infrequent and mainly occurs only in KL and Selangor.

Does anyone else feel that Grab has increased in price and is quite expensive these days, or is it just me?
