Microsoft may release ‘Moment 2’ update for Windows 11 very soon and it is providing a bunch of new features to users.
Microsoft recently released a new set of features for Windows 11 in its Moment 1 update. The move is the company’s transition from releasing major updates after a longer time and moving to rollout. smaller feature updates in less time. This system, called ‘Moment’, updated Windows 11 version 22H2 and added features such as tabbed File Explorer, taskbar overflow, support for icloud photos and more. And now, Microsoft has given fans a glimpse of what Moment 2 can bring. Read to find out.
On October 26, Windows Insiders Program YouTube the channel celebrated its 8th anniversary webcast where the presenters gave a brief overview of the upcoming Moment 2 update and what it could bring. In the webcast, the Windows 11 demo build 23003.ni_moment_directdash_dev1.221018-160 and it marks the deeper touch-optimized taskbar for tablet. This feature was not present in the Moment 1 update. Although fans have repeatedly requested a redesign of the taskbar and the option to move it, instead of it being stuck at the bottom, the present tense, dark Touch optimization is all they get.
Microsoft Windows 11 Moment 2 update may be released soon
The ability to update Moment 2 also removes the idea that a major build for Windows 11 will be released soon. So instead of getting Build 230003 through a major update, we’ll now get one or more Moment updates as a cumulative update from Build 22621 or 22622 to Build 22623 This means that the Moment update will not provide a new update of the OS version but only the current 22H2 version. A separate release will arrive sometime in the first half of next year, updating Windows 11 to version 23H1.
It’s also important to note that new devices running Windows 11 22H2 won’t come with the Moment update, and it’s not certain when these features will come to the operating system.
