at the top of the session harry angel colt (Lot 191) who had a record £500,000 price tag at the Goffs UK Breeze-Up Sale on 25 April has died in a traffic accident.
Consigned by Tally-Ho Stud, he sold to coach Michael O’Callaghan, who outbid Amo Racing’s Kia Joorabchian cars, surpassing the previous record price of £450,000 offered. get out Al Raya in 2019.
The 2-year-old, who boasted at Doncaster racecourse on Monday, came out of Go Angellica, a bro who won the stakes listed with the US stake winner Bredenbury and My Lucky Liz, O’Callaghan’s double group winner’s dam Jet Twilight .
He was lured by Tally-Ho Stud for €38,000 at the Goffs November 2021 Sale. The April 25 high bid of £500,000 equates to $628,725 on April 29.
O’Callaghan said at the time of purchase: “He’s the best horse here, and in the long run. We’ve been incredibly lucky with the salesman and he’s from the same family as the Twilight Jet, who has been a very good horse for us.If there’s one person in the sale that I don’t want to miss, it’s him.We paid more than we thought we should. but when you think it’s a real deal you have to pull it. He needs to win Group 1 now!”
He is said to have died instantly in a horrific accident en route to O’Callaghan’s base in County Kildare.
