Girl, 11, is sole survivor of Michigan plane crash that killed four people
Charlevoix County Sheriff Lieutenant William Church mentioned the victims had been aboard a twin-engine mild commuter aircraft when it crashed close to Beaver Island, located within the northern finish of Lake Michigan, about 40 miles northwest of town of Charlevoix.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mentioned the Britton-Norman BN2P aircraft crashed round 2:30 p.m. ET.
“The helicopter crew members landed and supplied help and had been capable of hoist and transport an 11-year-old feminine and a male grownup to McLaren Hospital in Petoskey, MI,” the tweet reads.
The woman underwent chest compressions on the helicopter on the way in which to the hospital and the person was later pronounced lifeless on the hospital, a USCG spokesperson advised CNN.
Sheriff Church recognized the victims of the crash as Kate Leese and Adam Kendall, who had been each new to Beaver Island, Mike Perdue, from Gaylord, his unnamed 11-year-old daughter and a pilot whose title authorities aren’t releasing at the moment.
Two canines additionally died within the crash, authorities mentioned.
The FAA and the Nationwide Transportation Security Board are investigating the reason for the crash, the FAA mentioned.
