Gervonta Davis pleads guilty to hit and run, sentencing hearing set for May 5

Gervonta Davis pleaded guilty today to four traffic offenses in a hit-and-run accident that injured four people, including a pregnant woman, in 2020. Davis had previously attempted to settle a agreed to plead guilty so he wouldn’t have to go to jail, but the deal was overruled by Circuit Judge Melissa M. Phinn. Davis later accepted another plea agreement today.

Davis’ sentence, if he receives it, will be announced by Judge Althea M. Handy of the Baltimore Circuit Court on May 5. It was noted that the date would allow Davis to take on Ryan Garcia on April 15, as had been scheduled.

Davis was returning from a birthday celebration at a club at nearly two o’clock in the morning on November 5, 2020 when he allegedly drove his 2020 Lamborghini Urus SUV through a red light and crashed into a vehicle. Toyota Solara. Davis is said to have then taken off in another vehicle. Four people were hospitalized as a result of the accident and the Solara was completely burned down.
