Genesis taunts us with another mid-engine V6 supercar concept

Genesis has revealed its latest supercar concept, but don’t expect to be able to drive it… at least not in real life.

The Genesis X Gran Racer Vision Gran Turismo Concept Not only does it have a long name, but it was also developed for the Gran Turismo Playstation video game series – the fourth installment the franchise has developed for the series.

Unveiled at the Busan auto show in South Korea, Genesis joined the X Gran Racer VGT with the recently announced Magma performance car.

This is a revised version of the X Gran Berlinetta Concept, featuring a front-mid-mounted ‘racing’ version of the Lambda II V6 engine with Genesis’ electric supercharging technology.

The 649kW/1071Nm V6 is combined with a 500kW/305Nm electric motor for a total system output of 1148kW and 1425Nm.

The X Gran Berlinetta concept doesn’t have a miniature purple color, but the X Gran Racer turns it purple 11.

The most obvious change is the addition of a giant carbon fiber rear spoiler with integrated lights, while the Genesis also features a larger front splitter and front spoiler, along with sill plates and ground effects. more aggressive.

There are active aerodynamic flaps plus a flat underbody design that reduces drag and improves stability at high speeds.

Like the X Gran Berlinetta, the latest concept features Genesis’ traditional two-line lighting system. At the front, the cascading lighting system continues to diverge to form the illuminated outline of the peaked radiator grille.

Both concept supercars are finished in bright orange paint, contrasting with many carbon fiber details.

Inside is a single seat configuration with fully integrated steering yoke and anti-roll cage.

Controls are integrated into a structural partition below the dashboard, while a panoramic display stretches across the dashboard to provide the driver with essential vehicle information.

The interior uses plenty of carbon fiber, while cotton padding is applied to areas where the driver’s body will come into contact.

The concept will be displayed at the Busan auto show from June 28 to July 7, along with the refreshed model. Electrochemical G80 and Neolun concept was revealed at this year’s New York auto show, along with other Genesis models.

In addition to these supercars, Genesis has also previously revealed a trio of two-door grand tourers, all of which carry the X nameplate. Unfortunately, these have yet to be applied to production cars.
