Gasoline prices hit a new record in the US

As of this morning, the price of a gallon of regular gasoline in the US reached $4.17, according to AAA. That’s up 10 cents from just yesterday and more than 50 cents from last week.
The previous “winner” was $4.11 on July 17, 2008.
Diesel lovers shouldn’t count their blessings yet. While the price of a gallon of alternative gasoline ($4.76) has yet to hit a record ($4.84), it’s not far behind. The average price for a gallon of premium gas is also a pretty insane $4.74.
