Fury only cares about the winner Usyk-Joshua

Tyson Fury may have tell the world he’s retired but his American promoter Bob Arum believes a fight will keep him going.

The 33-year-old told anyone who heard that he was leaving the sport after the game against Dillian Whyte. His WBC heavyweight title defense in April ended in a knockout won and that’s clear.

Arum, who had probably heard enough retirement stories to write a book about them, told FightHype that the final chapter on Fury won’t be written until another heavyweight title fight.

“I think Fury will wait and see how the Joshua vs Usyk fight goes and then he’ll be determined if he wants to continue,” Arum said. “Aside from fighting winner Joshua-Usyk there’s nothing really of interest to Tyson Fury so we’ll have to see.”

Usyk-Joshua 2 has yet to be officially announced. The date and location has been rumored to be July 23 in the Middle East but a report last week revealed that the rematch could be postponed if contracts are not signed this week.

Fury was recently pictured vacationing abroad to enjoy the fruits of his labor following his win over Whyte. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman has indicated that there will be no pressure on the champion to decide on his career, leaving the door open for an undisputed title fight against winner Usyk and Joshua.
