Frontier adds third nonstop flight from JFK, departing this summer

Route by route, Frontier Airlines is continuing to expand its presence at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
The Denver-based low-cost airline announced Thursday that it will add a third nonstop route from the airport.
Starting in August, Frontier will launch daily service from New York’s bustling downtown to busiest airport in the worldHartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).
The move comes just weeks after Frontier First flight from JFK landed at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Frontier has added a nonstop flight to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas. set to launch same dayAugust 13, like this Atlanta route.
“We’re excited to announce this new service at JFK, providing area consumers with convenient and affordable trips to Atlanta and beyond,” said Josh Flyr, vice president of design. Frontier’s network design and operations, said in statement.

Double in New York
Frontier will have competition on the JFK to Atlanta route. Delta Air Lines and JetBlue (both operating hubs at JFK) also fly between these two airports. And of course, Delta also operates a major hub on the other end in Atlanta.

While Frontier’s expansion at JFK is notable because it had never served the airport until this summer, its overall growth in the New York City area has also been impressive.
As the larger network drives profitability, the low-cost carrier will increase seats by 207% at the metro area’s three largest airports, according to data from aviation analytics firm Cirium. Those airports are JFK, LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
Frontier recently returned to the second airport with nonstop service from Newark to San Juan, mirroring a route the airline also launched this month from JFK.
Bottom line
Don’t expect Frontier to deliver the luxury experience you’ll find at JFK on some international airlines—not to mention Delta Air Lines, which just opened a swanky airport. New Delta One Lounge this week.
