The livelihoods of many farming families are threatened by the cumulative effects of conflict, economic and political instability, along with increased water consumption due to population growth and agricultural development; Climate change is the latest threat.
Women in the state of White Nile, southern Sudan, who are heavily impacted by these natural and man-made hazards, are being encouraged to take a more active decision-making role in community projects, including building water reservoirs and planting high yielding and drought tolerant crops .
