The government has announced that it will waive tolls on 33 highways for four days during the 2023 Hari Raya festival. Guess you can call it ‘tol rahmah‘?
The free period will begin at midnight today – April 19, 2023 at 12:01 am through April 21, 2023 at 11:59 pm, as well as the entire April 24, 2023. Free on April 22 and 23.
Although you will not be charged for these free days, you still need to use Tap the ‘n Go . card, Smart card And RFID tags as usual as the barriers are still active.
If things work the same way they did last time free time in CNYThere will be a simple rule to follow.
You have to pay during the free period to be free.
If you pay at a toll station after the deadline, you will be charged the full amount for your journey, even though you started your journey during the free period.
If you’re on the highway and can’t reach your destination before the free period ends, you can simply exit the nearest interchange before the 11:59pm deadline and re-enter the highway. That way, you’ll only have to pay tolls for the rest of your journey.
The same goes for getting on the highway before the free time starts tonight. You’re still free if you exit after 12:01 a.m. on April 19.
Of course, this does not apply to highways that do not use an entry and exit point system. For all other highways, just make sure you pass the toll booth before the 11:59pm deadline.
