Frank Warren: Oleksandr Usyk-Tyson FUry 2 “coming out next month”

By: Sean Crose

“He’s very disappointed but very philosophical,” promoter Frank Warren told Sports sky about his boxer, former heavyweight titlist Tyson Fury. After finally meeting Oleksandr Usyk in the ring a few weeks ago, Fury finally suffered his first defeat after the 12th round of his return and saw Usyk deftly win on the judges’ cards. Luckily for Fury and his team, a rematch clause was signed before the first fight ended.

“Anyway, the rematch was signed before the first fight took place,” Warren said, “and that date will be set within the next month or so, both fighters have said they want it and We will start from there.” Even though his fighter lost, Warren made it clear that Fury-Usyk was a memorable brawl. “It was a great battle,” he said Sports sky“two fighters leaving absolutely nothing in the ring in an epic battle in the most important fight of the 21st century… a very, very close fight and I think next time it will be even bigger .”

In Warren’s view, Usyk’s single shot ultimately led to the Ukrainian’s victory over Fury. “The truth of the matter,” Warren said, “I think the fight had some point towards the end of the seventh round, when he caught Usyk with a couple of really good uppercuts and he was in trouble for a while. bit, but he goes back into the corner and finds his second wind and then comes out and catches Tyson with a really good shot to the nose…that seems to trouble Tyson a bit, it takes away the momentum him a little bit, obviously we know what happened in the ninth minute.”

Fans certainly know what happened in part nine – Usyk hurt Fury so much that the fight was almost stopped. Although the match was allowed to continue, Fury remained on the mat. However, while he was able to beat the score, Fury still lost by a close decision. However, Fury is a very good fighter. Furthermore, the fight with Usyk was a very good fight. So there’s reason to want to see the two men face off again.

“Tyson knows what he has to do,” Warren told him Sports sky, “and I’m sure Usyk does too. Those two were in an absolute war, it took a toll on both of them… it will be interesting to see when that happens who has impacted who the most.”
