Fox’s Joe Buck makes Aaron Rodgers ‘COVID toe’ joke on Packers-Rams TV show: ‘He got his toe vaccinated’
Aaron Rodgers can’t get away with COVID-19 related jokes.
On Fox’s national television show Packers vs. Rams on Sunday, broadcaster Joe Buck knocked two birds down with a stone with a liner about Rodgers’ “COVID toes,” which hit the headlines last week. He also made sure to pay tribute to Rodgers’ “immunized” comment that sparked a controversy a few weeks ago.
Fox sideline reporter Erin Andrews set up Buck by reporting that Rodgers received an injection in his left foot before the game and couldn’t feel his toes.
THAN: What is Aaron Rodgers’ injury?
“So Aaron told us his toe was vaccinated against the pain,” Buck said.
Earlier in the broadcast, Buck referred to Rodgers as “The Evil One.”
The toe references come from Rodgers’ appearance last week on “Pat McAfee Show.” Rodgers told McAfee he is suffering from “COVID toes.” This is the actual situation that COVID-19 patients may experience. Rodgers later denied his own claims Wednesday during his press appearance, going so far as to put his foot out and say he broke his toe.

Rodgers didn’t train on Friday because of his toe, but he didn’t seem to have much trouble during Sunday’s game.
Buck’s “vaccinated” comment is a reference to the word that sparked a heated debate about Rodgers’ immunization status. Rodgers used the word during pre-season to describe his condition, but when he tested positive for COVID-19 in early November, it was discovered that Rodgers was unvaccinated.
Buck’s comments received mixed reviews on Twitter. Some fans applauded him for a clever remark while others deemed his jokes lame and outrageous. A sample response to what Buck said:
Okay, I love Joe Buck now.
