Fox News sought an injunction against one of its own senior producers on Monday to prevent her from publicly disclosing information related to a $1.6 billion defamation claim that They are fighting against the misinformation they broadcast after the 2020 presidential election.

Abby Grossberg, a senior producer in charge of guest bookings for star Tucker Carlson, told Fox last month that she intends to sue the network for discrimination and retaliation, according to Fox’s lawsuit.

Fox alleges that they were forced to sue her to prevent the disclosure of their legal tricks.

“Ms. Grossberg threatened to disclose privileged information of FOX News Media’s attorney-client and we have filed a temporary restraining order to protect our interests,” the network said in a statement.

A judge has yet to rule on Fox’s claim.

In a statement to The Daily Beast’s Confider, Grossberg’s attorney wrote: “Having recently received and read Fox News’ frivolous attempt to silence Abby Grossberg, we are pleased that the full story concerns the full story. Her case will be heard by three separate courts in each of which we are confident that she will receive the justice she deserves and certainly the fair treatment she has never received. experience from my employer, Fox News.”

Her law firm shared with the network a draft version of her civil complaint, which cites “allegation pages for the purpose of summarizing and citing communications that Defendant had with Fox News attorneys,” Fox’s legal brief alleges.

Fox said those claims were confidential to the “Unrelated” lawsuit filed in March 2021. That’s when election technology company Dominion Voting Systems sued Fox News for broadcasting the claims. unfounded claims that the company helped rigged the presidential election for Joe Biden. A trial in that case is scheduled for next month.

The producer is an important witness that shows the baseless claims on the broadcast of Fox

In November 2020, Grossberg is booking guests for a weekend performance by another Fox star, Maria Bartiromo. According to evidence made public in Dominion’s lawsuit against Fox, at one point, Bartiromo shared a memo passed to her by attorney Sidney Powell who promoted the President’s election fraud claims President Donald Trump at the time.

The Powell memo detailed the fraud allegations without providing evidence. It was written by a woman named Marlene Bourne, who admitted her claims were “pretty eccentric.”

However, Bartiromo, who amplified and even accepted Trump’s conspiracy theories after the election, hosted Powell’s show several times. During those appearances, Powell asserted that the election did not take place and promised to reveal the evidence in due course. She never did.

On September 14, 2022, Grossberg swore under oath to Dominion’s attorneys that such a memo should not be used as the basis for any such segment.

“This is not something that I would use right now to report for the air, no, it is not,” Grossberg said in his testimony.

In the lawsuit against Grossberg, Fox’s legal team said it notified her attorney that the information contained in her draft complaint against the network was privileged earlier this month. But on Monday, Fox said, Grossberg’s law firm shared drafts of the lawsuits that would incorporate that document.

Fox is asking the court to permanently ban Grossberg from sharing that information.
