Former street dog attends incredible and embarrassing meetup for “introverted” puppies
Most dog encounters are chaotic, especially for high-energy dogs that love to play. But some dog lovers forget that not all pups react the same way when they see furry friends.
The proud parent of a street dog previously posted an incredible video showing how shy dogs interact at dog events. They brought their rescue dog, Qila, out with a group of other “introverted” dogs. The baby mice in the video look like they’re not sure what to do, but they’re learning.
Qila’s Rough Past
Rescuers found Qila wandering the streets of Russia while she was heavily pregnant. Some people suspect that her family abandoned her when she was pregnant. Russian rescue dog took her in and helped her find a permanent home.
Sofia Rosten and her boyfriend, both living in Sweden, have been looking to adopt a dog for a while, and when they saw Qila, they fell in love. At first, Qila is very shy, but she quickly falls in love with her new family. She loves cuddling and getting attention from them, but when it comes to other dogs, she doesn’t know how to act.
Qila feels more comfortable in her home every day, but Rosten wants to find ways to boost her confidence. So she found a gathering for shy dogs in Sweden organized by a canine psychologist. Rosten had no idea the meeting would become a social media hit.
“My dog is an introvert so we went to meet like-minded dogs. This is what happened,” wrote Rosten for the video caption.
Hangouts for Introverted Dogs
The encounter lasted about an hour and took place in an outdoor space filled with shy, nervous dogs like Qila. They spent some time sniffing each other, but many interactions involved the dogs calmly sitting around, not acknowledging each other.
Many baby mice look like they are avoiding eye contact. Qila seems to prefer biting bugs to playing with other dogs.

Rosten said the most awkward part was at the end when the event was wrapping up. The dogs looked like they were attending an uncomfortable office party, and their social batteries for the day were depleted. Rosten filmed the dogs because she thought their expressions were amusing.
“This was nearing the end of the meeting and we all thought it looked funny so I recorded it,” Rosten wrote along with the video.
As strange as the meeting looked, it seemed to help Qila a bit. It was an opportunity for her to interact with similar dogs without being overwhelmed by the puppy’s overwhelming energy. The introverted attitude of these dogs proves that our furry friends can be more involved with us than we realize.
