Former NFL star Demaryius Thomas dies aged 33
Demaryius Thomas has died at his home in Roswell, Georgia at the age of 33.
Thomas is widely regarded as one of the best wideband recorders in Denver Broncos history.
Officer Tim Lupo of the Roswell Police Department told CNN:
“We are devastated and utterly heartbroken,” the Broncos said in a statement. “Demaryius’s humility, warmth, kindness and infectious smile will always be remembered by those who knew him and loved him.
The NFL also released a statement saying, “The NFL family mourns the tragic loss of Demaryius Thomas and we extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.”
Initial examinations showed that his death was related to a medical problem.
Thomas played in the NFL from 2010-2019, mostly for the Broncos. The Broncos selected him as the 22nd overall pick in the 2010 Georgia Tech draft.
“We have lost an incredible player and a special person in Demaryius Thomas. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to Thomas’s family and all those who are grieving this impossible loss. this fantasy,” the Broncos said in a statement.
