Tommy Fury will be rejected by his family if he loses to Jake Paul, a former Brit rival said.
Anthony Taylor lost to the 23-year-old by four rounds last August. The fight takes place on the Jake Paul-Tyron Woodley I card in Cleveland.
YouTuber and Tyson Fury’s brother engaged in a protracted war of words resulting in their fight being canceled twice. The first is due to Fury’s injury and the second is due to the former Love Island star being denied entry to the US when trying to board a plane for his first press conference.
Paul will now fight Hasim Rahman Jr on August 6 at Madison Square Garden. Talk to Vegas Insider Taylor said that taking on Fury would then be a step backwards.
“If Jake beat Hasim, you wouldn’t see Jake versus Tommy. It will be a step backwards after beating Hasim.”
“Why take a step back after beating a guy with great amateur pedigree? Hasim is faster, has more power and experience”.
“If Jake won there would be no Tommy Fury fight. Tommy is on top of him. He’s not afraid to fight Jake, but he’s also not motivated because he knows the outcome in advance. “
Taylor went on to predict consequences for Fury if he loses to the aggressive American:
“And he knows the consequences of losing. If he loses, he loses his sponsorship, he gets kicked out of his boxing family – why bother? He’s not scared, it’s just that there’s a lot of situations behind it. “
