John volunteered to join a rescue group and was asked to facilitate a surrender of an owner after they heard of a dog in serious condition. Dog named Nova needs immediate veterinary care! John, who also founded Ruff Riders Animal Transport, picked her up and took her straight to the animal clinic.
The poor girl’s face and bottom were in terrible condition, and it was clear that she had suffered for a while. The vets at the clinic were stumped! He can’t understand what happened to Nova! But he is willing to prescribe different drugs. Sadly, Nova went against all of them.
John has used social media to crowdfund, hoping the donations will support her care. Nova doesn’t just have problems with her face and body; she is also emaciated, which affects her muscles. John went to work immediately to improve her health as best he could.
With donations (thankfully) pouring in, Nova was able to see a dermatologist. It took a dermatologist four months to diagnose Nova with lupus. Unbeknownst to John, it was the sun that caused Nova’s condition. And he spent a lot of time with Nova outdoors, helping her get in shape! What comes next, and Nova’s transformation, is incredible!
