Ford touches the hands of peak champion Pikes to set its own record with an electric super truck

in 2023 Ford running the SuperVan 4.2 prototype with 1,400 horsepower at Pikes Peak, setting a class record, just seven seconds behind the overall winner. This time Ford is going even harder with a new, faster EV rival. It’s unclear whether this is a completely new machine or if it’s a high-pressure remake of last year’s SuperVan, but either way, it’s very impressive. Regardless, you can expect the new truck to be faster than the old truck, based on aerodynamics alone. It seems unlikely that Ford will be satisfied with “only” 1,400 horsepower anymore.
With a wing the size of my house and a diffuser that I can use as a rain shelter, this massive EV has a staggering 6,000 pounds of downforce at 150 miles per hour. With a smart driver behind the wheel and plenty of power in his right foot, this truck looks like an early favorite to win overall and possibly beat Volkswagen’s record.
Of course, We have yet to see the wild modified Ioniq 5s that Hyundai will bring Join the competition at the end of June, but it will definitely be good. And unlike Ford, Hyundai will have two bullets in its proverbial gun, as it has included a pair of Ioniq 5 N Pikes Peak Specials for WRC racer Dani Sordo and four-time Pikes Peak overall winner Robin Shute.
Personally, I hope that Ford and Hyundai are both happy and continue to return to the mountains in a few years.
