Ford Super Duty 2023 now ships, passed new Zero Defect tests

All of this comes after a process of modified prototype testing. Ford triples the number of trucks used for drag tested and nearly quadrupled the fleet used for endurance testing. The engineers focused on high mileage, and instead of doing certain challenges with mileage, the trucks were driven until the components failed so Ford could find a weak spot. . Earlier this year, Ford said an employee on the line discovered a hood alignment issue was within spec, but customers may not be happy. Engineers have corrected the alignment. The automaker will eventually shut down production for three weeks to work out every detail. “We’ve fixed dozens of quality issues,” says Farley. “We didn’t always do that as a company.”

The new truck offers three engines. The new 6.8-liter naturally aspirated V8 is standard, a scaled-down version of the 7.3-liter Godzilla naturally aspirated V8 that makes 405 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque. lb-ft.
