The 2022 Ford Explorer Enter the calendar year with another bull run. Ford Agency pick up about the MSRP adjustment, this is at least the second adjustment we know of. Most collisions max out for no more than a few hundred dollars, but some are close to four figures. Pricing for 2022 Explorer and the difference from the final 2021 price we posted in October 2021 is:
- Basic $34,540 ($195)
- XLT $37,440 ($945)
- ST Series $46,040 ($295)
- Limit $46,790 ($110)
- Timberline $47,540 ($105)
- ST$48,540 ($120)
- King Ranch $54,855 (N/C)
- Platinum $53,740 (N/C)
Part of the increase came from a higher destination fee, which we included and at one point increased by $50 to $1,295.
We didn’t include the Limited Hybrid RWD and Platinum Hybrid RWD figures in our post on every aspect of the 2022 Explorer. The former starts at $50,280 before the destination, Ford Authorization say a $175 increase. Add a higher destination fee and you’re at $51,575 and a $225 boost for the Limited Platinum Hybrid version. The second part has been priced recently enough to avoid increased savings on destination fees, and it costs $53,410 post-destination.
The Explorer trim line features an ST-Line for 2022, but this is also the first year for the Explorer Timberline and King Ranch. ST Series upgraded the design and chassis of the regular ST but still used the base four-cylinder engine (the regular ST can now also be paired with rear-wheel drive). The Explorer King Ranch suitable for F-150 and Expeditions of the same name: special badges and interiors color applied to a highest trim level in the range. In this case, it’s on par with the Platinum, including the standard turbocharged V6 tuned to make the same 400hp found on the Explorer ST. Finally, yes New Timberline gives the Explorer some of the off-roading it lacks by increasing ride height and ground clearance, while adding Torsen limited slip differentials, re-calibrated suspension, off-road tires, protection. underbody and powerful shock absorbers from Explorer Police Interceptors (though reworked). It also has a specially developed exterior and interior design.
