As alleged, Tesla Cybertruck will still launch later this year after all kinds of delays. A recent report claims the team still handle a series of problems to get Cybertruck ready for production, so we’ll believe it when we see it. But it’s definitely still happening at some point because Elon Musk said so, and when it does, older automakers better get ready. Unless you ask the CEO of Ford, in which case the Cybertruck will eventually go on sale someday no big deal.
Scoop Cart report that Ford CEO Jim Farley spoke to with CNBC’s Jim Cramer, who somehow still has a job despite constantly making mistakes about almost everything. In Cramer’s interview with Farley, they first talked about Ford’s decision to make a deal with Tesla to grant electric Fords access to its Supercharger network. Then the conversation turns to the Tesla Cybertruck and how it differs from the F-150 Lightning.
“If he wants to design a Cybertruck for people in Silicon Valley, fine,” Farley told Cramer. “It’s like a cool luxury product parked in front of the hotel. But I don’t make trucks like that. I build trucks for people who actually work for real, and it’s a different kind of truck.”
Of course, he’s right, but we also can’t help but appreciate the fact that the implication here is that the Cybertruck is not for real people. Although, since the Cybertruck has gone through so many delays and is said to be still having problems, at this point it’s really not a real truck. Sadly, whenever it goes on sale, we doubt the people buying it will be imaginary. They will be the ones who actually look at the Cybertruck and decide that they should exchange their money with Musk for one.
For the benefit of Ford electric vehicle customers, it is hoped that Farley’s outspokenness will not lead to Musk rescinding their agreement to use Tesla’s Supercharger.
