The production company behind a series of documentaries on topics as diverse as Diego Maradona and Oasis said it was in “advanced talks” with potential streaming partners to air a series. The five-part documentary follows the fortunes of Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy.
‘Horsepower’ followed trainers and runners through the nine months leading up to Royal Ascot last June and was produced in partnership with Equine Productions and made extensive use of that team’s JockeyCam equipment.

Julian Bird of ‘Horse’ producer Lorton Entertainment is confident his show will find a satisfying audience.
“Horsepower tells a story that has never been told in this manner or depth, and in doing so it reveals a plethora of compelling and moving storylines,” says Bird. “It will enthrall existing racing hobbyists, while also intriguing and delighting newcomers to the sport.
“We believe it will appeal to a wide audience and potentially surpass the way ‘Drive to Survive’ and ‘The Last Dance’ did.”
