First look: Inside United’s new Denver club, opening this summer
United Airlines’ Denver hub is undergoing a major makeover.
More than just an additional airline beautiful new gate with Instagram-worthy bathroom areas, but it’s also rolling out three new and refurbished lounges in the coming months.
It all started this summer with the opening of a new club in the A-West lounge, between gates A25 and A27. This will become United’s first lounge in Denver’s Concourse A. This will also be a big upgrade for passengers leaving this pier as you won’t need to take the train just to use the lounge anymore.

Then, later this summer, United will reopen the B-East club, which has been closed for the past few months for renovations. Once completed, it will become the largest clubhouse in the network, spanning a whopping 36,500 square feet.
Once the B-East club opens, United will close down the existing B-West club and renovate it in a similar style to their other club in Concourse B, scheduled to be completed. in 2024. Then United will build a Polaris Lounge in Denverbut that’s still a few years away.
When all is said and done, United will have more than 100,000 square feet of club space in Denver, including its fiction Flying club concept. But the improvements aren’t just about the larger footprint.
Each new club will be designed to reflect Mile High City and Colorado, and there’s a lot going on. Do not believe me? Join us for the first tour of the new A-West club.

After taking the escalator up to the reception area, you will find touchless entrances that will allow you to enter the lounge. From there, you have the choice of whether you want to hang out on the first or second level.
Both will provide great views of the lounge and runway, as well as an abundance of natural light. The lounge chairs facing the west-facing windows are sure to be the most popular during Denver’s dramatic sunsets over the Colorado Rockies.

The new A-West lounge will span 24,900 square feet on both floors.
Colorado-themed design
From the moment you step inside, you’re sure to notice a lot of improvements over United’s existing Denver clubs, starting with the design.
United is using a Colorado theme for this lounge, and based on the rendering, you’re sure to be impressed. Expect plenty of natural wood, along with gray carpeting, blue accents, and tan leather finishes.
Currently, the lounge is still under construction, but you can already start to see Colorado inspiration. For example, United installed gabion walls around the perimeter of the entrance corridor to match the stone walls that run along Interstate 70 to prevent boulders from falling onto the roadway.

This club will also have two fireplaces — one on each level. A wood-filled wall will flank the fireplace under a natural oak ceiling. Assuming the finished product looks like the picture, you’ll feel more like entering a cozy ski lodge than a crowded airport terminal.
In fact, that’s exactly how Alex Dorow, United’s executive director of lounges, premium service and hospitality, conceived the idea for this new space. “If Ralph Lauren had to build a ski chalet, what would it look like?” he asked the team during the design process.
Comfort for the post-pandemic world
In addition to the finishing touches, United is deliberately designing the space for a post-pandemic world. That means you’ll find more private workstations here than at most other Unity Clubs, to support those working on the road.
There will also be a couple of premium co-working desks that will be perfect for solo flyers.

Additionally, the dining area will feature a mix of one, two and four-sided tables and booths, suitable for those traveling alone or with friends and family.
Speaking of dining areas, United is working to upgrade the lobby food service, said Dorow, and he’s introduced locally inspired options that will rotate seasonally. Dorow explains: “When we say local, it’s not just the look and feel but also your taste.
Denver’s three new lounges will each feature United’s signature hydration walls and individual water bottle refill stations. According to Dorow, the airline has received feedback that more and more travelers are wanting a faucet to refill their water bottles — a request United is happily addressing at its newest outposts.

Notably, the new A-West United Club will not offer shower rooms, which is a pity as the airline is planning to switch long-haul international flights to concourse A in the coming days. next year.
You’ll find gender-specific restroom facilities (with separate floor-to-ceiling counters), all-gender restrooms, and family rooms on each floor.
As with existing United lounges, expect free and fast Wi-Fi and convenient access to power outlets and USB ports.
A surprise is coming
Although the new lounges look like they will be a big upgrade for United’s Denver Center, Dorow didn’t spill all the beans on the hard hat tour.
In fact, he’s introduced a brand new amenity that will debut in all three of Denver’s new clubs. “As we open these lounges, you’ll see some new ways for customers to get to know each other,” he said.
He didn’t share specifics, but he repeatedly mentioned “fun artifacts” and “games”. What that means is anyone’s guess, but the good news is that we’re only a few months away from finding out.
Better yet, even if this surprise is silly, at least the rest of the lounge will bring some much-needed improvements to United’s Denver hub.
