Set against the backdrop of the Shawangunk mountains in Walkill, New York, is the story of 35-year-old Joan Peralta who will finish six years in the New York Department of Corrections in the Spring of 2024.
Peralta, a Brooklyn native, discovered a deep love for horses while working in the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation’s Second Chances Program. With only months remaining before leaving prison in the rearview, Peralta takes us into a world filled with Thoroughbreds, loss, and healing.
