Final Fantasy XVI is an epic dark fantasy that takes place in the kingdom of Valistthea—a land blessed in the light of the Mothercrystals, and where peace is shaken when the spread of the Blight Disease threatens destroy their territories. The fate of the land is determined by the Eikon, the mighty summoned beasts and their Rulers, men and women blessed with the ability to call and wield them.
This is the story of Clive Rosfield, a warrior who was given the title of “First Shield of Rosaria” and swore to protect his younger brother Joshua, Dominion of the Phoenix, Eikon of Fire. Before long, Clive will be swept up in a great tragedy and vows revenge against Dark Eikon Ifrit, a mysterious entity that brings calamity upon its rise.

A multitude of accessibility options allow anyone to experience Clive’s adventures—from seasoned action gamers to those who just want to enjoy the story.
We’re introducing a Story-focused mode, recommended for players who aren’t comfortable with action games and want to focus more on the game’s story elements. In this mode, Clive will automatically avoid certain attacks and epic Eikonic combos that can be activated with the simple press of a button. The action-focused mode, where every action of Clive is player-driven, is for those who are confident in their skills—or want to experiment!
