The way to 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada officially began on Wednesday night, when FIFA unveiled the official logo for the biggest soccer tournament at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles.
The logo, unveiled by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and two-time World Cup winner Ronaldo Nazário, features an actual image of the FIFA World Cup trophy in the foreground and the year of the tournament in bold in the background. This marks the first time the FIFA World Cup has been used in the official logo.
In addition to revealing the official logo of the tournament, FIFA introduced the WE ARE 26 campaign, which aims to encourage “people, places and communities” to take an active role in kicking off the tournament, according to the announcement. FIFA press release.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said: “WE 26 years old is a rallying call. “It’s a moment when three countries and an entire continent say: ‘We unite as one to welcome the world and deliver the biggest, best and most comprehensive FIFA World Cup ever. .’
“The tournament will allow each host country and participating team to write their own page in the history books of the FIFA World Cup and this unique branding is an important step on the road to 2026.”
According to Infantino, the 16 host cities will have their own FIFA-developed brands with more colors and symbols to make each logo unique to the World Cup host cities.
“While we celebrate together in LA tonight, an entire continent celebrates that the whole world will unite in North America for the greatest show on Earth in just three years,” Infantino said.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be broadcast by FOX Networks.
